Wow… ya’ll are amazing.
We started this month with a letter from the government saying $20,000 worth of funding for our MassQ Ball event was gone.
Not delayed, not misplaced, “terminated”.
BUT, after sharing the news with our community and starting a crowdfunding campaign, over 70 brave, determined, and generous individuals and organizations pulled up and donated to our cause. And we are happy to announce that we are well over the halfway point of our crowdfunding goal.
Ya’ll. Are. Amazing!
Seriously though, I am so thankful for all of you who gave, who reposted our story on WBUR (shout out to Cristela Guerra for the excellent journalism), and shared our video address with your networks. You are all helping to turn this termination into a triumph.
Of course, the job isn’t done. At last check, we still have another $7,000 to raise to get us out of the hole. But 7 is a whole lot closer than 20, wouldn’t you agree?

MassQing for Mental Health
With all these budget cuts and harmful policies flying around, it’s hard not to feel stressed. Fittingly enough, May is Mental Health Month, and boy do we need it.
In honor of this month I will be giving a free MassQing workshop this coming Saturday, May 31st, at Black Market in Nubian Square.
MassQing has always been a potent de-stressor for me, so it gives me great pleasure to provide space for others to transform tension into creative play, self discovery and art-making.
In partnership with SSBC and The Mayor's Office of Small Business, MassQing for Mental Health is for anyone, regardless of background, who is navigating the pressures of entrepreneurship or leadership. Take a moment from your grind and get a bit more grounded in yourself in this chill, communal and reflective workshop that will have you seeing yourself in a whole new way.

Space is limited, please only RSVP if you are sure you can attend.
And with that, I’m outta here. Enjoy the long weekend ya’ll. Stay blessed and…
Till next time:
Be Art.
